A Special Thank You from the Minneapolis Children’s Hospital | Bloom MN

Art in Bloom was  so delighted to receive a special “Thank You” card in the mail today from Maggie Overman of the Minneapolis Children’s Hospital’s Child Life Department, Art and Healing Program. This past quarter Bloom’s foundation, Art in Bloom was able to donate 100 art kits to children stuck in the hospital over the holidays. On behalf of the Minneapolis Children’s Hospital, Maggie wrote the following:

Dear Bloom Portraits,

Thank You so much for choosing Children’s as this quarter’s Art in Bloom  recipient!! It was such a pleasure to meet a few of your team members and get to show them around our Minneapolis campus. The art kits are by far the cutest I have EVER seen and the kids have really enjoyed receiving them. Thanks again for your amazing support of our Arts and Healing Program. We appreciate the generous support of our community friends so much!

Art in Bloom Gives to the Children’s Hospital Colorado | Bloom Denver

Today was drop-off day for Bloom Portraits Denver’s Art in Bloom Foundation! David and Caley put together 100 art kits so the kids at the Children’s Hospital Colorado can have some fun this holiday season. Kids need choices, whether it’s what lunch to get at school, or which art project to do. Because Art in Bloom did not want to limit each child’s creativity, we donated 50 princess crown kits and 50 mustache kits. Each kit included the necessary supplies to make either a princess crown on-a-stick or a mustache on-a-stick.

Art in Bloom Gives Art Kits to Minneapolis Children’s Hospital! | Bloom MN

Did you know that Bloom Schools has a foundation helping to bring art and creative expression into children’s lives?

Each quarter Bloom’s foundation, Art in Bloom, partners with a local children’s based organization to provide their art programs with the supplies they need the most. Bloom teams up with our clients as well as local art supply businesses to collect art supply donations and distribute them to a chosen organization at the end of each quarter. The mission of Art in Bloom is simple: to provide local art focused groups with the art materials essential to their continued growth and thriving. Our hope is that every child has access to the art education; allowing their creativity and talent to blossom into full Bloom!

Knowing there are many hospitalized children who can’t be home for the holidays, this quarter Art in Bloom chose to donate 100 Art Kits to the Child Life Department of the Minneapolis Children’s Hospital . Children will be able to choose from a Princess Crown on-a-stick Art Kit or a Mustache on-a-stick Art Kit to create either in the convenience of their hospital room or with the help of a friendly Child Life Specialist or volunteer in their floor’s playroom. We hope these fun crafts will provide sick children with a creative outlet to be silly and take their minds off of their stressful experiences. Mind stimulating creativity and laughter reinforce positivity and are essential to a healthy recovery.

Maggie Overman of the Minneapolis Children’s Hospital gave us a warm welcome to the hospital this week and took some time out of her busy day to show us around the public areas of the facilities. We were delighted to hear more about some of art focused programs the Children’s Hospital currently has in place. Maggie and the Children’s Hospital share Art in Bloom’s belief that art is a great “distraction” for sick children and provides an excellent outlet for them to express themselves, taking some stress off of their bodies and allowing them to heal more quickly after treatments and surgeries.

We are so honored that Maggie and the Minneapolis Children’s Hospital welcomed us with open arms and provided us with such an amazing opportunity to bless the lives of some very deserving children and families.
