Giving Back | Denver School Photography

One of the best parts of working with schools and child care centers is that we get to give a little back. It always so much fun to visit a school after we’ve done a picture day to see all the kids running to us to say hi and trying to “scare us”. Each school or center that partners with Bloom Schools receives a portion of packages sold. This week we had the great opportunity to revisit Colonnade Children’s Center in Denver Colorado to give a little back.

Creative Kids Academy of Orono Receives Funding | Bloom Wayzata

At Bloom Portraits, we believe in giving back to the community and our local schools.  Bloom Schools, our school division is designed to do just that.  For every package ordered by parents, we give a donation back to the school.

We would like to extend a thank you to Creative Kids Academy of Orono  for choosing Bloom Schools to photograph their school portraits.  We were so excited to present a check to them that they’ll be able to use for funding and school supplies!

Art in Bloom Gives Art Kits to Minneapolis Children’s Hospital! | Bloom MN

Did you know that Bloom Schools has a foundation helping to bring art and creative expression into children’s lives?

Each quarter Bloom’s foundation, Art in Bloom, partners with a local children’s based organization to provide their art programs with the supplies they need the most. Bloom teams up with our clients as well as local art supply businesses to collect art supply donations and distribute them to a chosen organization at the end of each quarter. The mission of Art in Bloom is simple: to provide local art focused groups with the art materials essential to their continued growth and thriving. Our hope is that every child has access to the art education; allowing their creativity and talent to blossom into full Bloom!

Knowing there are many hospitalized children who can’t be home for the holidays, this quarter Art in Bloom chose to donate 100 Art Kits to the Child Life Department of the Minneapolis Children’s Hospital . Children will be able to choose from a Princess Crown on-a-stick Art Kit or a Mustache on-a-stick Art Kit to create either in the convenience of their hospital room or with the help of a friendly Child Life Specialist or volunteer in their floor’s playroom. We hope these fun crafts will provide sick children with a creative outlet to be silly and take their minds off of their stressful experiences. Mind stimulating creativity and laughter reinforce positivity and are essential to a healthy recovery.

Maggie Overman of the Minneapolis Children’s Hospital gave us a warm welcome to the hospital this week and took some time out of her busy day to show us around the public areas of the facilities. We were delighted to hear more about some of art focused programs the Children’s Hospital currently has in place. Maggie and the Children’s Hospital share Art in Bloom’s belief that art is a great “distraction” for sick children and provides an excellent outlet for them to express themselves, taking some stress off of their bodies and allowing them to heal more quickly after treatments and surgeries.

We are so honored that Maggie and the Minneapolis Children’s Hospital welcomed us with open arms and provided us with such an amazing opportunity to bless the lives of some very deserving children and families.
